The Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the IIS La Fe renews its accreditation certificate from the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology

The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) has awarded the IIS La Fe the seal of Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i) for its dissemination work, after having passed the requirements. The IIS La Fe thus becomes an accredited member of the UCC+i Network, which is made up of around 80 organisations from all over Spain. Specifically, the IIS La Fe is integrated in modes 1, 2 and 3 as a Unit of Scientific Culture and Innovation that performs communication of R+D+i, general dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge and advice and training of research personnel in the dissemination of science and technology.

The UCC+I IIS La Fe, which was certified for the first time in 2021, acts as an intermediary between the IIS La Fe and the public, with the main objective of promoting scientific, technological and innovation culture, through activities of different types: scientific communication, dissemination, training, etc. In this sense, these units have become one of the main agents in the dissemination and popularisation of science and innovation in Spain and constitute a key service for improving and increasing the training, culture and scientific knowledge of society in general.

The UCC+I IIS La Fe has a Communication and Dissemination Plan for the design and implementation of activities aimed at society in general. These activities are possible thanks to the collaboration of the researchers of the IIS La Fe who collaborate with the Science Communication and Dissemination Area in the planning and execution of dissemination activities with different groups, presentation of research results to society and training.

Among the main activities carried out annually at the IIS La Fe from the coordination of the UCC+I are the European Researchers' Night, the workshops with patient associations Your hospital investigates, the training sessions Count Science, training in communication and dissemination and the PhD Day which, since last year, brings together the pre-doctoral group of the IIS La Fe, as well as the communication of the results of the R&D&I of the research groups of the centre.

The aim of the Network of Scientific Culture and Innovation Units (UCC+i Network) is to promote the exchange of experiences and the search for synergies between entities, which improves the quality of the products and services of the UCC+i and promotes the optimisation of resources. The aim of the registration is to establish the minimum requirements that a Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit must meet in order to be considered as such, according to the White Paper on UCC+i and, thus, become part of the directory of UCC+i of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, coordinator of the Network.
