The objective is to develop an integrated modeling framework, by combining advances in computational chemistry and systems toxicology, for modelling toxic perturbations in liver and heart across multiple scales.
Mechaggrenamics Mechanisms of cell dysfunction by aggregation dynamics of polyQ-containing proteins.
- Call
- EU FP7-PEOPLE-2012-CIG - Marie-Curie Action: "Career Integration Grants".
- Principal investigator
- Dr. Rafael Vázquez Manrique
- Role
- Individual
Protein aggregation is a hallmark of several ageing-related neurodegenerative diseases. Different cellular pathways influence the rate of aggregation, and clearance of intermediate protein species and aggregates in the cell. The broad objective of this proposal is to find molecules that modulate protein aggregation. The second objective is to understand the mechanism by which mHtt toxic species alter cellular processes.
